For sale by auction!

September 22, 2014

Action is closed.

Just a quick post, I know it has been a LONG time.  I’m helping a fellow collector sell off their collection shot by shot.  If interested, here are the rules:

  • The auction is open for bidding now and will close on Sunday, Sept 28 at midnight PST.If you are going to bid, please honor your bid(s).  When bidding, please consider that you could win most or all of everything you bid on so be prepared to purchase your winnings!
  • Payment is by Paypal only and must also cover the fees.  A Paypal gift payment or with the fees added to the total is required.
  • Payment is expected with 3 days after a final invoice with shipping costs is sent to you.  It will take some time to invoice all winning bidders so please have patience.
  • Shipping will be from the USA and will be sent via Priority Mail only.  Please keep in mind that shot glasses are heavy and shipping, particularly outside the USA, can be very expensive.   As this has been an issue for past auctions, please consider this when placing bids for multiple shot glasses.
  • You will receive an email when your shots have shipped – it will take time to get all shots packed and shipped out so please have patience.
  • These shot glasses have gone through a basic inspection and are in collectible condition, unless otherwise noted.  That being said, everyone has a different definition of “perfect” so all shots are sold AS IS and are not refundable.
  • You may request a picture of an individual shot glass, particularly for the ones on the list that are more rare.  Please do not ask for pictures for every shot that you plan to bid on (the website picture is a good reference).  I cannot promise that all requests will be sent so if you are counting on the picture before placing a bid, keep in mind that it may not be possible to send it to you.  Requests received after Sept. 25 will not likely be sent.
  • The minimum starting bid for all shots is $5 US (shots that have some flaws are noted and start at $1 US).
  • Outbid notices – time permitting, outbid notices will be sent to you up 2 days before the auction closes.  Don’t count on the outbid notice – you could still be outbid in the last 2 days or run out of time to re-bid.  If you really want the shot glass, I recommend you place your best bid.
  • First person to bid on an item has the tie-breaker.  For example, where more than 1 collector has bid the  same highest bid amount on a shot glass, the first bidder will win it.  Bidding early has an advantage.
  • If you do not agree with the anything stated here, please do not bid.  There will be no exceptions made regarding bidding, payment or shipping.  Please don’t ask.

If you are still interested in bidding, please send an email to hrcshots@gmail.com with this information:

  1. Subject of email:  Auction Bid and your name (Auction Bid: Your Name)
  2. Provide this information (helps make sure you get the right shot glass):
    1. Your Address
    2. Name of city and description of shot glass
    3. Box and Location Number
    4. Your bid for the shot glass
  3. If you have any questions about the shot glasses or want to request a picture of a shot glass, please send an email with Query in the subject line.  Please note shot glass city name, box and location details so the correct shot glass picture is sent or question answered.  Again, pictures are not guaranteed and queries sent after Sept. 25 are unlikely.

This collection has some gems so I recommend taking a peek at the very least!  If you check out the Top 10 list of most wanted shot glasses… some are available in this auction!

Good luck and thanks for your interest.

Cheers!

Denise

Shots for sale #1

April 8, 2011

** Bidding is now closed, links to the auction have been removed.  Thanks to all those that bought shots!  **

Although it is always sad to see someone sell off their collection, I’m here to advertise that there is one heck of a collection currently available.  If you’ve been chasing a shot for years, collect variants, want to pick up some rare shots or just more traders, well, Dick probably has ’em for sale!

Right now until April 18th at midnight EST, Dick is accepting silent auction bids on his collection.  Currently his shot collection from A to K is available and that’s over 1,500 shots!  Opening bids are below retail in many cases, the exception being on some of the harder to get shots.  If you’re looking to fill some gaps in your collection, check it out.

A few Question and Answers have been added to the page so make sure to check it out.

** An updated bid list has been added to the site containing the current winning bids received so far.  Please refer to the webpage for more details. **

Good luck to everyone!

November Website Update

November 3, 2009

Christmas is only 52 days away!  Oops.  Too soon?  Here’s the November update!  Feel better?

What’s Supp?

Apparently, I’m the only writer on the group.  What is this about?!  We have a blog now and I’m the only one contributing.  Does it sound like I’m complaining?  I am.  Come on – someones gone to their local cafe, new cafe, event, missing their closed cafe and can write something or send a picture.  Whatever.  It doesn’t have to be long or journalistic.  Send me something!  I already have a personal blog, so I don’t need to write for this one all the time too.  YOU as group members can add to the hrcshots.com site.  I don’t even have a local cafe so make me jealous and tell us about yours.

Moving on…

Are you a HRC bottle opener collector?  Well, hrcshots.com has launched a new section to track ’em for you.  It’s still in progress but should be near complete by the end of the month.  Currently, the lists are fairly accurate from A-L.  Have something to add – maybe a picture or two? – let me have it!

Of note:  As I don’t personally collect the bottle openers, if you are a collector and would like to help keep the pages accurate, please send me updates of new editions.  These particular pages will only be kept up if the collectors send in info.   You can check the current collection pages here:

For the list by city:

For the list by type:

Questions?  Get Answers.

We have a mountain of knowledge on this group.  A suggestion came in a few months back about having a segment on novice or really, really want to know questions.  If you have something you’ve wanted to ask about the hobby or a particular shot, send me your question.  I’ll throw it against a panel of experts and will post the results to the blog.

And experts, you’ve been volunteered already.  As soon as I get a question, you’ll get an email to chime in with your knowledge.  Oooo, the suspense.

webmaster@hrcshots.com – the shot experts are in.  Got a question?  Give us your best shot.

Coming Up / Stay Tuned

As most of you know, Andy Juhl was a fellow collector who passed away over the summer.  He asked if Lois, George and I would sell off his collection for Suzie.   We’ve had a lot of enquires about it and we’re finally ready to offer it up to the group.  Details on the auction will hit your inbox really soon.  So watch for it!  All info will be provided then.

Yeah, Baby!
  • The Toronto Skydome cafe closed on September 27.  One less Canadian cafe…tear.
  • Penang Hotel opened September 19.  No shot released yet.
  • Marbella opened October 30.
  • Gatlinburg cafe turned 10!  It’s a nice drive to the cafe (just past Dollywood!) so if you haven’t been, consider making a trip.  The cafe is pretty cool and the staff are really nice!
  • Red Circle dessert shots… rumors are flying around that these may hit more cities.  So save room for after lunch/dinner so you can snap these up!

Kudos

George S. – always on the hunt (and finds) new shots.  The discovered section is usually brought to us by the letters “G.S.”
Tom C. – also a successful shot hunter.  Keep ’em coming!

Frank T.  – regular contributor of new shot photos.  Thanks!

Lois M. – had the honor of inventorying Andy’s “little” collection.  Thanks Lois for your hard work and all the time you put in getting it all together.  Well done!  And thanks for taking pictures of any missing website links!

And to close, it just has to be said.  I lasted 1 week longer at NFL Survivor football than the Shot Queen. I can’t out drink her but I can randomly pick NFL better than her (I don’t watch it!).  Alas, for the record, Lois’ Jaguars got beat this week (BOO!) and my bragging rights are now at an end.

Cheers!
